“Growing up, my father worked in the woods and did whatever he needed to support us, while my mother stayed home and always had a clean home, supper on the table and a snack waiting for us on the kitchen counter when we returned from school,” she said, with a smile and a nod to inheriting her mother’s incredible skills of baking. And, while she has lost a lot of weight, which breaks my heart, I try to help wherever possible.”įrom appointments, collecting prescriptions, medication and grocery shopping, MacAulay finds a way to show her mother appreciation, while recognizing all her efforts, sacrifices and support through the years. “My mother wants to do home dialysis and is determined to care for herself. “She is staying stabilized and not on dialysis yet,” said her daughter. Hebert will eventually need dialysis to manage her symptoms for the best quality of life. And through her faith, she has comfort, wisdom, understanding and peace, knowing that her life has a purpose.” Mary Hebert has always enjoyed whipping up catering-sized meals for her large family, followed by delicious baked desserts.
